Evergreen perennial in clumps from a compact rhizome.
Densely tufted, overwintering, the stipes of old leaves persisting at the base; sterile leaves spreading, broadly triangular, 5-20 cm long, 3- to 4-pinnate, their segments oblong or egg-shaped, each with 8-16 teeth; fertile leaves erect, narrowly triangular, their segments linear, 3-12 mm long.

Habitat / Range

Dry to mesic rocks and talus slopes from the lowland to alpine zones; infrequent in NW BC; N to AK, YT and NT.
