General:
Deciduous perennial in large clusters arising from a short rhizome.
Leaves:
Broadly lanceolate, 8-35 cm long, 2-7 cm wide with non-jointed stipes and 2-pinnate blades; rachis and segments with multicellular glandular and non-glandular hairs.
Notes:
Two subspecies are reported from BC by Windham (1993b) but the differences are minor and few botanists would be able to separate the ssp. scopulina from ssp. laurentiana in the field.
If more than one illustration is available for a species (e.g., separate illustrations were provided for two subspecies) then links to the separate images will be provided below. Note that individual subspecies or varietal illustrations are not always available.
