General: Perennial herb from an elongate, slender rhizome; stems trailing to climbing, 2-3 m long, glabrous to softly hairy.
Leaves: Stem leaves alternate, 5-12 cm long, arrowhead-shaped with basal lobes rounded to distinctly angled, tips pointed, glabrous to hairy.
Flowers: Inflorescence of single, 4-7 cm wide, wide-mouthed, funnel-shaped flowers on stalks shorter than the leaves; petals white to deep pink, fused, twisted in bud, pleated in flower; bracts broadly heart-shaped to egg-shaped.
Fruits: Capsules egg-shaped to globose, 1 cm long; seeds 5 mm long, finely hairy-warty.
