General: Annual herb from a taproot; stems 30-70 cm tall, mostly simple, glabrous and glaucous.
Leaves: Basal leaves 5-9 cm long, oblanceolate to egg-shaped, narrowed to base, more or less entire; stem leaves oblong-lanceolate, unstalked and heart-shaped, clasping at the bases.
Flowers: Racemes few-flowered, flat-topped; flower stalks ascending, 10-15 mm long; petals cream to lemon, with a slender stalklike base and a narrowly egg-shaped blade, 7-12 mm long; sepals sharp-pointed, erect, 6-8 mm long.
Fruits: Siliques, 8-13 cm long, 1.5-2 mm thick, slightly constricted between the seeds, tapered to a slender tip; thick styles about 1 mm long.
