General:
Tufted perennial herb from a taproot; stems 2-6.5 cm tall, glabrous to sparsely hairy.
Leaves:
Usually all basal, oblanceolate, 0.3-1.2 cm long, 1.5-2 mm wide, hairy with simple, branched, crosslike, and starlike (5-8 rays) hairs, entire; stem leaves lacking or sometimes 1.
Flowers:
Racemes 3- to 6-flowered; petals white, 2-3 mm long; sepals 1.5-2 mm long.
Fruits:
Silicles, 4-8 mm long, 2-3 mm wide, egg-shaped, glabrous; fruiting stalks shorter than silicles; styles 0.25 mm long; seeds 5-9, about 1 mm long.

Habitat / Range

Mesic to dry talus slopes, scree slopes and cliffs in the subalpine and alpine zones; rare in NE and SE BC; N to AK, S YT and W NT and E to SW AB.
