General:
Annual succulent herb; stems erect to ascending, freely branched, glabrous, 0.4-1.0 m tall.
Leaves:
Alternate, stalked, elliptic to elliptic-lanceolate, coarsely saw-toothed, 3-10 cm long.
Flowers:
Mostly paired in leaf axils, pale yellow to orange, unspotted; sepals pouched but not spurred.
Fruits:
Capsules, elastically dehiscent, 8-15 mm long, many-seeded.

Habitat / Range

Moist forests in the montane zone; rare in SE BC; S to MT and N OR.
