General:
Annual herb from a fibrous root; stems erect to ascending, several, with forklike branches, greyish silky-hairy, 5-30 cm tall.

Leaves:
Basal leaves lacking; stem leaves linear-lanceolate, entire, abruptly sharp-pointed, 4-10 mm long, 0.5-1.2 mm wide.

Flowers:
Heads disciform, 2-7 (14), in small clusters which exceed the leaves at their base; involucres 2.5-3.5 mm tall; involucral bracts lanceolate, blunt, woolly-hairy except glabrous at the tip.

Fruits:
Achenes of the outer flowers 0.8-0.9 mm long, those of the inner flowers 0.5-0.6 mm long; pappus of both flower types 2 mm long, pappilose.
