Species Information
General:
Parasitic, leafless perennial herb; stems threadlike, twining and sticking to other plants by means of suckers.
Leaves:
Reduced to tiny scales.
Flowers:
Inflorescence of several to many stalkless flowers in clusters or globular masses; flowers about 2 mm long, with 4 (sometimes 3 or 5) petals/sepals; sepals free nearly to the base, unequal.
Fruits:
Capsules globose, not opening in an irregularly circular fashion near the base, 2.5 mm in diameter; seeds 1-4.

Habitat and Range
Parasitic on herbs, shrubs and subshrubs in the lowland zone; rare in SW BC; S to OR; also Atlantic Coast; possibly introduced.Status Information
