Species Information

General:
Perennial herb from a branching rhizome; stems single to several, erect, leafy, 35-90 cm tall, glabrous or sparsely hairy.
Leaves:
Basal leaves lacking; stem leaves alternate, linear to linear-lanceolate, finely toothed, lower ones nearly unstalked.
Flowers:
Inflorescence of terminal clusters of relatively few, bell-shaped flowers; corollas 2-3.5 cm long, blue; calyces without appendages.
Fruits:
Capsules, opening above the middle.
