Species Information

General:
Loosely tufted perennial herb from a taproot; stems decumbent at base, 7-20 (35) cm tall, hairy with branched or starlike hairs, sometimes with a few long, simple hairs near base.
Leaves:
Basal leaves loosely tufted, oblanceolate, 0.5-3 cm long, 2-12 mm wide, hairy with unequally 4-rayed, starlike hairs, occasionally mixed with 5-rayed or crosslike hairs, hairy-fringed with simple, branched or starlike hairs, entire to sometimes obscurely toothed; stem leaves lacking or 2, sometimes 3, lanceolate to egg-shaped-lanceolate.
Flowers:
Racemes 2- to -15 flowered; petals white, cream or yellow, 3-5 mm long; sepals 1.5-2.5 mm long, sparsely soft-hairy.
Fruits:
Silicles, 6-12 mm long, 1-2.5 mm wide, lanceolate to oblong, plane, glabrous or nearly so; fruiting stalks 3-15 mm long, lowest often about the same length as to twice the length of silicles, hairy; styles 0.5-1 mm long.
