General:
Perennial herb from a rhizome; stems succulent, mostly simple, ascending or prostrate, also rooting from the nodes, 10-30 cm tall.
Leaves:
Basal leaves lacking; stem leaves succulent, opposite, simple, unstalked, linear-oblong to linear-oblanceolate, 2-6 cm long, 2-6 mm wide.
Flowers:
Heads with ray and disk flowers, mostly solitary on terminal stalks; receptacles conic; involucres 8-12 mm tall; involucral bracts in 3 series, broad, rounded above, becoming pinkish upwards; ray flowers yellow, 6-10, narrow, inconspicuous, barely surpassing the yellow disk flowers.
Fruits:
Achenes glabrous, 10-nerved, with a cartilaginous ring at the tip to which the disk corolla is attached; pappus lacking.
