Species Information

General:
Annual herb from a slender taproot; stems ascending, slender, simple or branched, several, 2-6 cm long, often reddish or crimson.
Leaves:
Basal leaves few, somewhat fleshy, smooth, the blades widely elliptic to lanceolate, 2-9 mm long, usually unstalked; stem leaves similar, few, alternate or opposite; sheathing stipules wax-papery.
Flowers:
Inflorescence few- to several-flowered in terminal or axillary umbel-like clusters; perianths greenish, whitish, or reddish, smooth, 1.0-1.4 mm long.
Fruits:
Achenes, 3-angled, smooth, up to 1 mm long.
