General:
Perennial herb from a large white rhizome; stems stout, somewhat white-hairy, 10-50 cm tall, branched above.
Leaves:
Basal leaves simple, toothed to entire, short-hairy, oblong-linear to lanceolate, short-stalked; stem leaves similar, reduced, unstalked, clasping.
Flowers:
Racemes corymbose, bractless with inconspicuous flowers; petals white, 2-3.5 mm; sepals early deciduous, hairy, margins white.
Fruits:
Silicles, hairy, not heart-shaped at base, 3-4.5 mm wide, inflated, somewhat obcompressed.
