Species Information

Summary:
Repetobasidium conicum is similar to Repetobasidium mirificum but with conic cystidia.
Microscopic:
SPORES 5.5-7 x 4-5 microns, round to nearly round, smooth, inamyloid, acyanophilic, thin-walled; BASIDIA 4-spored, 8-12 x 5-7 microns, subglobose-pyriform, with basal clamp connection, subbasidial stem generally less than 25 microns; CYSTIDIA 30-40 x 5-7 microns, conic [widest at base], "not capitate or with a very slight apical enlargement, without coloured resinous encrustation but sometimes with a small oil-drop", with basal clamp connection; HYPHAE monomitic: basal hyphae 2-4 microns wide, closely attached to wood, with clamp connections, short perpendicular hymenial branches, (Eriksson)
Notes:
Repetobasidium conicum has been found several times in BC, was also found once in Sweden, and was originally described from Germany, (Eriksson).

Repetobasidium conicum is similar to R. mirificum in its spores but Repetobasidium conicum has conic cystidia, (Eriksson).
