Habitat It is growing on the edge of causeway across Gooch Creek Canopy overhead is black poplar, The soil had been disturbed by dredging about 5 years ago.

Notes This plant lacks Chlorophyll and therefore depends on mycorrhizal fungi. The same species of plant also has appeared several years ago on the adjacent property where I live at 4645 William Head Road.I t was growing there under a big-leaf maple tree on the edge of a bluff of old-growth Douglas fir. Adolf Ceska has identified it.
