Notes
These plants were growing on open rock outcrops and bluffs in Garry Oak woodlands far from the ocean. They were slender plants with narrow, toothed leaves and smaller heads than typical G.stricta plants that occur along the seashore. These features are consistent with the current understanding of G.hirsutula var.hirsutula in BC. They are provisionally recognized as such here, although the taxonomy of the genus requires further clarification and their identity may potentially change in the future
