Notes
Habitat; Mt. Cain summit beyond. This small ridge is very dry and rocky, thin soil, windy, overlooking the cirque below the fingered summit of Mt. Cain. The stunted-looking plants are below the crest of the ridge and only on the side facing Mt. Cain; exposure is roughly east; protected from western sun by the top of the ridge. Only 4 plants seen. Growing with: Pedicularis racemosa, Cassiope mertensiana, Phyllodoce empetriformis; dwarfed Abies lasiocarpa and Tsuga mertensiana on the lower SE edge of the ridge. Location data from my GPS, 'BC Backroad GPS Maps'.
