Chocolate Lily ID from illustrated Flora of BC; in Pojar and Mackinnon: Fritillaria lanceolata Pursh Plants along roadside along beach: beside Malaspina Promenade just west of Townley Walk. About 1 m above high tide, 5 m from beach, edge of forest. Plants about 40 cm tall. Details of flowers: ca. 3.5 cm, nodding, campanulate, 6 purple-brown tepals mottled with greenish-yellow, stamens 3, pistil superior, style 1, stigma 3-parted.
