This specimen grows on the edge of a small cliff. The Curme Islands are dominated by a forest matrix of Douglasfir and Arbutus menziesii with impressive stands of Arctostaphylos columbiana. The understorey hosts well-developed Gaultheria shallon under forest canopy and grasses in open areas.
