Distribution of Aculepeira carbonarioides in British Columbia in British Columbia

Introduction

This species is found in high elevation habitats such as talus slopes and alpine meadows in western North America and a few similar locations in the east in Quebec and New Hampshire (Dondale et al. 2003, Wikipedia 2011). These spiders often build their webs between rocks in talus slopes and boulder fields and readily drop to the ground if disturbed – this makes it difficult to observe or collect them for field identification.

Global Range: Holarctic; in Nearctic - AK to QC south to CO & UT
BC Range: Mount St. Paul, Pink Mtn., Cathedral Lks. Prov. Pk., Kamloops
