Introduction

This species is a mimic of the American Bumble Bee (B. pennsylvanicus) and is found from Ontario to Florida, west to Texas, Oklahoma, West Virginia, Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, Saskatchewan, Alberta, British Columbia (Bumblebee.org 2011), Fontinelle Nature Association 2011). Queen is approx. 20-25 mm in length, workers 18-20 mm, male 17-20 mm (Mitchel 1960, 1962).
