Introduction

Although no photographs or specimens of this rare plover have been obtained in B.C., a recent record from the northern Okanagan Valley was well-described and left little doubt as to the identity of the bird in question. An earlier report from the central coast, however, is not supported by documentation and its accuracy is unknown.
