The Short Red Gorgonian Coral forms candelabrum-like fans up to 30 cm across. It is abundant in current-swept habitats near Cape Flattery, Washington within scuba range but has apparently not yet been found on the Vancouver Island side of the Strait of Juan de Fuca.
