Eubranchipus intricatus, the Smoothlip Fairy Shrimp, has been reported from Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba (Hartland-Rowe, 1967), and Nova Scotia (Daborn et al, 1991) in Canada, and from Montana (Hossack et al, 2010), Minnesota (NatureServe, 2015), Wyoming and Massachusetts (Smithsonian Institution Collections).
This author photographed and collected this species in May, 2015 from two temporary sloughs near the village of Jaffray in the District of East Kootenay in southeast British Columbia. This is a first record for British Columbia. Specimens have been deposited at the Royal British Columbia Museum.
This species occurs in temporary pools of low salinity (Hartland-Rowe, 1967).
