Introduction

This widespread tropical and subtropical seabird wanders widely and has been recorded on a number of occasions in B.C. waters. This species is highly distinctive, and several additional anecdotal reports from fishermen off the west coast suggest a more frequent occurrence in our region than the 9 records listed [for BC] suggest.
