Introduction

Leptodiaptomus sicilis is found across Canada from the east to west coast, and within the USA (Alaska, northern states south to California, Arizona, Missouri, Virginia) (Reid and Williamson, 2010). It has been collected from both southern and northern BC (Sandercock & Scudder, 1994).

This species is found in freshwater and saline lakes (Wilson, 1959).
