Introduction

Lynceus mucronatus is a North American species known from British Columbia, Alberta, and Montana (Martin and Belk, 1988). In British Columbia, it has been recorded from the Merritt area (Smithsonian Institution Collections).

Members of this genus are found in ephemeral ponds or streams and occasionally lakes (Martin and Belk, 1988).
