In North America, the Pygmy Short-horned Lizaard is found in the Great Basin from central Mexico to southern Alberta and Saskatchewan (Government of Canada, 2014). In British Columbia, it is considered extirpated. There have been no confirmed observations in the last 50 years. There are two collections at the Royal BC Museum from Osoyoos in 1898.
