The Glass Physa "occurs from Alaska southeast to Ontario, Canada, and to Michigan; in the western United States to eastern Washington, Nevada, southern Colorado, and northern Nebraska; and was included in Siberia in the original description but this has not been confirmed (Taylor, 2003)." (
British Columbia Conservation Data Centre 2012). It is found in lakes, ponds, marshes and slow-moving streams in thick aquatic vegetation on mud (British Columbia Conservation Data Centre 2012).
