Introduction


The Cabbage Looper is a widspread nocturnal species of moth that is found throughout the southern Palaearctic ecozone, North America, parts of Africa and most of the Oriental and Indo-Australian region (Wikipedia 2012). "It is primarily a tropical species that probably cannot winter north of the southern United States, and that re-invades southern Canada in late summer each year" (University of Alberta Entomology Collection 2012). Ths species feeds on a variety of plants and is considered a serious agricultural pest in some regions.
