Notes Penares cortius. Spotted gray sponge. Identified by Bill Austin. Very common in Barkley Sound. The most abundant and conspicuous sponge at Bowie Seamount. Forms meandering, lumpy ridges that may be 50 cm long. Family Geodiidae.
