Notes The close-set eyes and paddle-shaped dactyls (tips) of the last walking legs are distinguishing characters of the genus Argis. Argis alaskensis is distinguished by the combination of 3-4 median carapace spines and dorsal ridges on 6th abdominal segment forming small spines on posterior margin (all other argids with 3-4 dorsal spines lack spines on 6th abdominal segment).
