Notes
The red-lined chiton is probably the most common of the West Coast Tonicella species. Highly variable, the most consistent unique feature are the very fine, concentric lines on the headplate (in this photo at the top) which are bordered with dark brown in this species (in the somewhat similar T. undocaerulea the concentric lines are not bordered by dark brown).
