Notes
This chiton has been through a series of recent name changes. Once called Mopalia ciliata, it was shown to be distinct from that species which is only found in California. It was tentatively renamed Mopalia wosnessenski, but an examination of the type specimen of that species showed it was an invalid taxon. The next available name was Mopalia kennerleyi. Genetic analysis has shown the distinction to be valid.
