Comments This bird appeared somewhat exhausted, not moving, on our deck. Within an hour it had recovered and taken off. It was very small, and had greenish-yellow tail feathers, splashes of very pale yellow in various places, and a pale streaked breast. I sent photos to two expert birders who are members of the Arrowsmith Naturalists, Sandy Grey and Roger Simms, both of whom confirmed that it was a Palm Warbler in non breeding plumage. Although not common in the area, one had been seen the day before in Parksville. They do come this way on migration but are not seen regularly.
