This is a young bird who had been being fed by its father for the last few days, but the father seemed to have decided it was grown up. Here is is sitting on our bird feeder. After sitting there for a while, it decided that "Dad" wasn't going to show up, so it figured out how to do it itself. (The feeder has a mix that includes a lot of nuts -- flickers are a bit big for the feeder but seem to manage anyway.)
