Comments
Three snow buntings had been seen in the area a few days earlier. This was the only one remaining when this photo was taken. There is a noticeable black streak on the bill tip. The bird was feeding on the ground, plucking seeds from weeds growing in the gravel path. I was so close to it before I saw it at my feet, and it never moved, even if I moved to get a better shot. It seemed totally unafraid of people.
