Phantom Hemlock Looper moth. There were many of these moths swarming around Powell River. They were seen in clouds around the Douglas Fir trees, on lawns and buildings, cars, windows etc. This morning I was waiting outside the hospital and noticed that the lawns were scattered with them. They all appeared to be gravid females. They were quite variable in appearance. Identified with the help of iNaturalist members and 'Moths of Canada'.
