Comments	This species may vary in color, with a purple form (pictured) common as well as an orange form with dark blue or purple stripes on the arms (similar to Solaster stimpsoni in color, easily distinguished by the short, fat arms of S. endeca). Photo with Pentax Optio W10 underwater camera submerged in shallow aquarium.
