The close-set eyes and paddle-shaped dactyls (tips) of the last walking legs are distinguishing characters of the genus Argis. The abundant short hairs on carapace, distinct ridge down center of abdomen, and forward-pointing blunt spine on midline of first abdominal segment are distinguishing features of A. crassa.
