This is (in my opinion) the most beautiful anemone in the Pacific NW. They are rare in the intertidal zone, but may be common subtidally. A close examination of the tentacles reveals rows of fine chevron-shaped darker markings that are distinctive. This anemone hosts several shrimp species that cling to the base. Photo taken with Pentax Optio W10 underwater submerged in shallow aquarium.
