Comments
Rarely encountered, this species is occasionally collected in deepwater traps. I have collected small specimens from the stomachs of black cod (sablefish, Anoplopoma fimbria). Easily confused with the grooved tanner crab (Chionoecetes tanneri), the wider groove in the center of the carapace and the single spine in the postero-lateral corner of each side distinguish Chionoecetes angulatus from that species.
