Comments Probably the most common Eastern Pacific hermit crab. These hermits, especially when larger, tend to choose shells that look too small for them. The abundant long hairs, and white and sometimes blue bands on the walking legs are distinctive. The antennae of this species are banded light and dark. Photo taken with a Pentax Optio W10 underwater camera submerged in a shallow aquarium.
