A rhizocephalan barnacle that infects shrimp. Most infect crabs. Our king crabs and hermit crabs have their own species of this barnacle. The barnacle itself has infiltrated tentacles to every part of the ship's body. The mass on the abdomen is the embryo sack of the barnacle. The shrimp will defend this mass untill ripe.
