Comments Female wool carder bee, Anthidium manicatum, clinging to Linaria purpurea flower after a rain. Same individual as 25821, 25822. This bee is very common. The males are larger than the females and patrol flower patches. They "grab" the female while she is feeding at a flower to mate with her. They also "strike" other bee species feeding at the same plant.
