These birds are almost always found on the ferry dock, and most of them don't even bother to move as the ferry comes in to the guideways on which the cormorants are perching. On this particular day the light was such that the adult birds exhibited a variety of colours - purple/blue, green and a khaki green, which is not usually seen so clearly.
