Comments As with the preceding images, this animal is exposed at the surface. However, it was crawling along on the surface. This posture also invites predation and like the "typical" posture is actually seen rarely. Normally, the animals move in the subsurface environment. Depeding on the sediments, in the lab they would go down to a depth of 30 or more cm in the sediments and move through the substrate with ease.
