Comments This squirrel appeared for the first time in December, 2008. It was clearly different than the usual Eastern Grey Squirrels, of which we normally have both the grey and black colour forms. This squirrel is heavier (chunkier in build), and the red colour of the belly is quite distinct. The differences led to the initial conclusion that it is an Eastern Fox Squirrel, but further consultation and observation suggests it is probably an unusual Eastern Grey Squirrel.
