Oral disc with crown of tentacles up to 15 cm in diameter. Lives with oral disc lying just at the surface of the sediment. Column usually red or pink. Specimens on this coast formerly known as Urticina coriacea. Described by Sanamyan, Sanamyan and McDaniel 2013. See Invert. Zool. Vol. 10. No. 2. P. 199-216. Intertidal and subtidal.
