Introduction

This deep-water species is commonly brought up in trawls from deep water in Howe Sound. It is a large anemone (up to 15 cm in diameter) with conspicuous hard lumps in the column. It is usually recovered attached to hard objects like large pieces of waterlogged wood or small rocks. It is not known what it looks like expanded, although the column and tentacles are usually white or pale pink.
